So last night, for my sorta birthday dinner, we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Arigato's. It's a japanese steak house and it's just... simply... splendid. Anyhoo...
I couldn't finish my food so this dude comes and he starts to wrap it and asks me what I want out of a list of things and I said a swan and he gave it to me. Then he went around the table and asked this group of kids and they come up with crazy stuff.. like one said a demon. (Freakish... but creative) And the guy did it! So the father of the hellians says "Wow you're really good at this, you should go to design school or something, you seem to have a creative mind." But the dude tells him that he's going for something with computers instead...
Because: it pays more.
It pays more.
How much can creativity be bought for?
I wish that Americans, or maybe even people in general, didn't put such emphasis on price tags.
God gives us things like creativity for a reason.
Why would we so frivolously waste it for something that pays more?
What... so that we can get new cars, clothes, nicer houses.. etc.
What did Jesus have?
I mean, I'm not meaning to come off as someone who's ready to sell all their possessions and go live a life of a traveler.
But it's something to seriously ponder when money becomes more important than the things that our hearts truly enjoy.
I think a great goal would be to do one completely creative thing each day that has nothing to do with making money or selling out to a "higher standard" that truly means nothing.
If you decide to take on this task... write me and tell me how it goes...
Otherwise, I'll keep you posted.
